Only a few weeks left to try our winter menu!
At the Sun Inn we regularly change our menu to reflect seasonal produce. We launched our latest A La Carte & Pub Classics menu back in November and we are really pleased to say that this has proved to be very popular.
Featuring mouth-watering dishes such as the Breaded Kedgeree, Turmeric Mayo, Quails Egg as a starter and Pressed Lamb Shoulder, Dauphinoise Potatoes, Confit Leeks, Redcurrant Jelly, Lamb Jus as a main course it is easy to see why.
We are currently planning our next menu which will be available from early February so there are only a few weeks left to enjoy these and other delicious dishes from the current menu. (see the full menu here).
A selection of these also feature on our special Group Booking menu, designed for parties over 10. If you're planning a celebration, make it extra-special at The Sun Inn, where we have our delightful function room for private parties.
Call us for full details and reservations or why not use our handy online booking form.
We look forward to welcoming all customers again very soon and wish everyone a Healthy & Happy 2019 .
Free desserts on 'Moreish Mondays'
Our Ladies Night on a Monday has been very popular offering a free mini dessert for every lady if they ordered a main course from our À La Carte / Pub Classics menu. However in the interests of equality we are now including the chaps too!
On Monday evenings we give every diner who orders a main course a fabulous mini trio of desserts free of charge as the perfect end to their meal.
These change weekly and may feature items not on the main menu, so if you have a sweet tooth and fancy a surprise, come along and enjoy a Moreish Monday.
Garden gets a makeover for Summer
With fine weather promised for the Summer months we have done quite a bit of work in the garden to make outside dining an even better experience. There is some new furniture on the patio at the front and in the beer garden at the rear.
We have upgraded the decking and spruced up the smoking area, for those who want a quick cigarette after their meal.
Come rain or shine our gardens provide a great place for a relaxing drink or perhaps a light snack at lunchtime or early evening.
New Chef, New Menu, Same Commitment to Bringing You the Best.
We are delighted to welcome a new hand on the tiller in the kitchen with our new head chef, Daniel Roff. Having gained experience at blue chip establishments including Hotel du Vin, Mark Jordan in Jersey and Oxfordshire Golf Club, Daniel joined us as sous chef some time ago, where he became fully immersed in the ethos of The Sun Inn: traditional British cuisine with innovation and flair.
Daniel has now taken over as Head Chef and has created his own menu that reflects what the Sun has become renowned for: quality food that is beautifully presented and created using trusted local suppliers.
As a diner you will appreciate that Daniel has maintained the good practice for which we are known and, though some of the dishes may have changed, the overall style is very much 'as you were'.
The new menu still features many pub classics given the Sun treatment, so you will find Burgers, Steak, Fish & Chips and Racks of Ribs alongside our own creations such as Braised Beef Blade served with Truffled Mashed Potatoes, Carrot Puree and Fine Beans.
Daniel has pulled out the stops with some exciting new starter offerings and there is still a selection of pre-starters and sharers to graze on while deciding on your main choices.
We are also in the process of training a new team of staff to provide the same level of customer service that our patrons have enjoyed in the past. This is progressing very well and we hope that customers old and new will appreciate the fresh faces who will, as always, offer 'service with a smile'.
